SLM Selective Laser Melting
SLM uses high-power laser to fully melt metal powder, building dense metal parts layer by layer.
Working Principle
Recoater spreads a powder layer (20-60μm), fiber laser (200-1000W) melts powder following cross-section, platform descends, repeat until complete.

Pros & Cons
- Pros: high density, near-wrought mechanical properties, complex geometry one-piece
- Cons: high equipment cost, Ra 6-15μm surface needs finishing, thermal stress requires stress relief
